Since childhood, Pat Castka has enjoyed creating and sewing. She also developed, at an early age, a love of all things vintage, especially early textiles and toys. Her work has enabled her to combine both pleasures into business.

Whether working in cloth or papier-mache, each piece is meticulously and individually made by her, to emulate the charm and age of the early cloth toys she so admires. As far as possible, she tries to achieve both the look and feel of age by using appropriate techniques, as well as styles and design. As she works on a piece, it develops its own individual personality. Using her collections of buttons, trims and textiles for the clothing, enhances the period look, as well.

Pat Castka is a juried member of the Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsmen and was chosen by Early American Life magazine for its Directory of 200 Best Craftsmen for both Traditional and Holiday categories. Her work is in many private collections that have been photographed for Country Living, Country Home, Early American Life, Country Almanac, Country Collectibles, Doll Crafter, Handcrafts Illustrated.
